As Secretary of State for Culture and Creative Economy of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, I express my immense joy and satisfaction with the hosting of the 21st Conference of the World Association for Symphonic Bands and Ensembles (WASBE) in our city, in July 2026.
Rio de Janeiro, with its renowned vocation for tourism and for hosting major events, such as the Olympics and the World Cup, possesses the ideal infrastructure and cultural diversity to welcome WASBE. Our concert halls, such as the iconic Theatro Municipal and Sala Cecília Meireles, and alternative spaces like Cinelândia Square and Passeio Público Park, will be available to provide memorable musical experiences.
