Cubatão Symphonic Band (Brazil)
The Cubatão Symphonic Band (BSC), one of the most recognized artistic groups in Brazil, celebrated over 50 years of existence in 2020 and is known for its versatility and the high quality of its shows [1]. The band stands out for combining the symphonic tradition with popular repertoires, as was the case with “Symphonic Queen,” presented in 2024 in partnership with the Zanzalá Choir, interpreting the hits of the iconic British rock band.
Throughout its history, the Cubatão Symphonic Band has won several awards in state and national competitions, such as 1st place in the São Paulo State Contest of Bands and Fanfares in September 2025, which qualified it for the national dispute. Renowned conductors have led the group, such as Roberto Farias, who celebrated 60 years of his career with the band in 2014.
In addition to concerts, the BSC works on training new talents and promoting music education, contributing to the cultural scene of the region. In 2021, the group opened the season with the Cubatão Symphony project, which had the sponsorship of Usiminas and the support of the Usiminas Institute. Thus, the Cubatão Symphonic Band demonstrates its relevance both through musical excellence and through its cultural and social initiatives.
